Congratulations to Professor Tess Lea Macquarie University’s new Dean of Social Sciences.  Tess joins Macquarie University from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada where she headed the Department of Community, Culture and Global Studies. Tess is an anthropologist with specialist expertise in ethnographic accounts of bureaucratic operations and policy formations in settler colonial settings. The central question of her research programs to date is how to make instruments of social policy work better for intended beneficiaries.  Cordiner King wishes Tess all the best in her new role.
